Triathlon Training Updates
So I thought I would give you another update on how my training is going for the triathlon...
It is going pretty good! I am so proud of my swimming! I can swim the entire mile now without stopping! I started to develop a bit of a head cold on Thursday, so I took myself out of the water since then, so that it wouldn't develop into anything worse than what it was.
Here it is Monday, and I should be able to get back into the water tomorrow with no issues.
Like I said, I can now swim the whole mile in one shot. I do it in about 40 minutes. I don't know how that compares to others when they swim a mile, but for me its my record. In order to be able to beat my record I need to develop a little more speed, but in order to that, my endurance has to be a little better.
So, that being said, my next plan of action is to actually stick with my current pace and just go further than the mile that I have been doing. I have done the mile with no breaks twice now. I did it with just 2 breaks last Tuesday, and then Wednesday and Thursday I did it all at once. So starting tomorrow I am going to try and improve my distance and hopefully that will build my endurance to be able to go a little faster in my pace. That's the plan anyway. We'll see how it goes.
As far as the other 2 sports (biking & running) I haven't worked on those anymore yet. I want to, in these cold months, develop my swimming indoors and then be able to take it outdoors when it is warm. I prefer to do my biking and running outdoors anyway and the weather so far hasn't been conducive for that.
I know I can do this! And I feel healthier already just 2 weeks into training for it! That's the most important part! Wish me luck!
