Light a candle for National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day

October 15th is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day in the United States. More than 25,000 children are stillborn in the United States every year leaving mothers, entire families and communities devastated. Estimates of the rate of occurrence of stillbirth make it at least as common as autism.

The above link takes you to www.october15th.com. They are asking that everyone who reads this message lights a candle at 7pm in every time zone, all over the world and let it burn for at least an hour. If this is done there will be a continuous wave of light on October 15th. Do this in honor of someone that you know who has lost a baby or for your own baby to remember National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. Thank you!

I will be doing this in honor of my sister, who miscarried twins in April 2008, my grandmother who lost her 10th child as an infant, for my mother, who lost a baby at 16 weeks gestation, for my brother and his wife, who wife miscarried their 1st baby, for my mother in law who lost her first baby at just 2 hours old, and for my friend Marge, who lost her baby Dekar at just 8 hours old.
