Dekar Day

So today is the 27th. This marks the 4th month of remembering Dekar Day. We celebrate Dekar Day on the 27th of each month by having ice cream in honor of little Dekar Ezri Schmidt. Dekar was born on June 27th of this year at 10:46am and met the eyes of Jesus at 7:10pm the same day. He was diagnosed with Trisomy 18 and hypoplastic left heart syndrome. Dekar's mommy and I became friends through a pregnancy message board, Babyfit. She and I were due just 6 days apart, and our babies were born early just 9 days apart. Though we have never met in person, I feel such a bond with her. I post this to get the word out about Dekar Day and I hope that you will take part in remembering Dekar by indulging in your favorite ice cream every 27th.
